The Los Angeles Dodgers win their second World Series on the West Coast.  After barely losing out in '62 to the San Francisco Giants, the Dodgers again ride a tremendous pitching staff to an NL Pennant and a World Series championship.  Sandy Koufax won 25 games and had a minuscule ERA of 1.88 and Don Drysdale was no slouch himself, winning 19 games with an ERA of 2.63.  Koufax took home the NL MVP Award while Pete Rose of the Reds won the Rookie of the Year Award.  Tommy Davis led the league in hitting at .326 and Willie McCovery and Hank Aaron led the Senior Circuit with 44 Home Runs.  It was business as usual in the American League as the Yankees win their 4th straight American League Pennant.  Elston Howard had a great all around year for the Bombers, taking home the AL MVP Award.  Gary Peters won the AL Rookie of the Year, winning 19 games for the White Sox.  Carl Yastrzemski led the AL with a .321 average while Harmon Killebrew hit 45 Home Runs to lead the league.  Whitey Ford won 24 games to pace the American League and Yankee teammate Jim Bouton wasn't far behind with 21 Wins.  The Dodgers swept the Yankees in the World Series, with Koufax winning a pair of games and cementing his place within the great pitching names in MLB history.   Relive it all with Dugout Steps Baseball and the 1963 Season Set.
