The 1971 MLB Season is memorable for many reasons. The Baltimore Orioles sported four starters that won at least 20 games each. The Oakland Athletics took the American League West by storm as Vida Blue emerged as a dominant young pitcher. The Pittsburgh Pirates outlasted the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL East. The best pennant race was in the NL West as the San Francisco Giants finished one game ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The World Series was a classic between the Pirates and the Orioles as the Pirates won in seven games as Roberto Clemente had a tremendous series for the Bucs and Steve Blass won two games.
