The 1985 Season Set.  The 1985 Major League Baseball Season brings back many memories.  The I-70 Showdown World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals went seven games and was full of memories including Don Denkinger's pivotal blown call in the 8th inning of Game 6 and Vince Coleman's tarp incident in the NL Championship Series that kept him out of the World Series.  In that NL Championship Series, Ozzie Smith hit the famous Go Crazy Folks, Go Crazy home run called by Jack Buck.  Most importantly, 1985 is remembered by true baseball fans for the tremendous pennant races that lasted throughout the summer and into the early fall.  All four divisions were decided by a total of 11 1/2 games.  The eventual World Series Champion Kansas City Royals edged out the California Angels by a 1 game to win the AL West.  The Toronto Blue Jays won the AL East by 2 games over the New York Yankees.  The St. Louis Cardinals won the NL East by 3 games over the up and coming New York Mets.  The Dodgers had the easiest time, winning the NL West by 5.5 games over the Cincinnati Reds.  Don Mattingly won the AL MVP award while Willie McGee won the NL MVP.  Bret Saberhagen won the AL Cy Young and Dwight Gooden won it in the NL with his unbelievable season.  1985 had it all!  Good hitting, pitching, power and lots of speed on the bases.  Relive it all with Dugout Steps Baseball and the 1985 Season Set.
