John Elway finally leads the Denver Broncos to a Super Bowl championship.  After failing three times in the eighties, and enduring rough years in the nineties, John Elway - with the help of Terrell Davis and a solid defense - delivers for the fans in the Mile High City.  The Broncos beat the Green Bay Packers 31-24 in Super Bowl XXXII in a tight and drama filled game.  The victory derailed a back-to-back Super Bowl bid by the Packers and Denver became the first AFC team to win the Super Bowl since the Los Angeles Raiders XVIII.  The Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers both finished with 13-3 records.  Brett Favre was fabulous under center for the Packers while Barry Sanders ran wild for the Detroit Lions with 2,053 yards on the ground.  The Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos waged quite a battle for the AFC West which the Chiefs won with a record of 13-3 while Denver finished at 12-4 to earn a Wild Card berth.  After shockingly falling to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 1996 playoffs, Denver avenged that loss and beat the Chiefs 14-10 in a tough battle and traveled to Pittsburgh to face a tough Steelers team and the Broncos won 24-21.  That set the stage for Super Bowl XXXII and the transformation of John Elway into an NFL legend.    Relive it all with Sideline Football and the 1997 NFL Season Set.
